KASE Index Falls 0.47% as Trading Volumes Surge
Kazakhstan's benchmark KASE Index closed the July 16 session at 7,663.91, shedding 36.13 points or 0.47% from the previous close. The session opened at 7,706 and saw an intraday high of 7,721.22 before sliding to a low of 7,652.96. Despite the decline in price, market participation notably picked up: trading volume in index-constituent shares rose by 51.8% compared to the prior day, totalling 828.1 million tenge. The combination of falling prices and rising volumes could indicate that investors are selectively buying the dip or rebalancing their portfolios.
