Apple Issues Warning as Scammers Exploit FaceTime to Steal Banking Passwords

Apple has drawn users' attention to a growing wave of fraud in which criminals initiate FaceTime calls while impersonating bank representatives or Apple support staff. During these calls, victims are persuaded to "verify" their identity by providing passwords, one-time SMS codes, or payment card details. The scheme is particularly dangerous for elderly users and those accustomed to trusting calls from accounts that appear legitimate. Apple emphasises that the company never initiates FaceTime calls requesting sensitive personal or financial information. Users are advised to end any suspicious call immediately and dial their bank back using the official phone number.
