Kazakhstanis to Get Access to Three U.S. Treasury Bond Issues Directly on KASE
Kazakhstan Stock Exchange is broadening its investment product offering: from June 23, 2026, three U.S. Treasury bond issues will be available for trading in the government securities sector. The first issue (US912828Z781) matures in January 2027 with a semi-annual coupon of 1.5% per annum, the second (US91282CAE12) matures in August 2030 with a 0.625% coupon, and the third targets long-term investors with a 2050 maturity. Adding U.S. Treasuries to the local exchange is a significant step for portfolio diversification among Kazakhstani investors, as U.S. government bonds are traditionally viewed as among the world's safest haven assets. Investors will be able to hedge tenge-related risks and earn coupon income in U.S. dollars without opening foreign brokerage accounts. This makes the Kazakhstani market more competitive relative to offshore brokerage platforms.
