Air Astana buys back another batch of its own shares and GDRs

Kazakh airline Air Astana disclosed the latest phase of its share buyback program: between August 5 and 7, 2026, the company purchased a certain number of ordinary shares and global depositary receipts (GDRs) representing those shares through broker Halyk Finance. The transactions are part of the buyback program the company's management announced back in March of this year. Such regular repurchases are typically aimed at supporting the stock price and increasing value for remaining shareholders by reducing the number of shares in free float. For KASE investors, this is another confirmation that the company continues to actively manage its capital structure, which could be seen as a positive signal regarding management's confidence in the business outlook.
