KASE to Launch Trading in New US Treasury Bonds August 17
The Kazakhstan Stock Exchange announced that starting August 17, 2026, it will open trading in discount US Treasury bonds worth approximately $77.7 billion, maturing in August 2028. The instrument falls under the government securities sector and will be quoted to four decimal places of the clean price. The listing of US Treasury bonds — among the world's most reliable debt instruments — on KASE broadens the range of foreign-currency safe-haven assets available to Kazakhstani investors. Previously, such instruments were mostly accessible only through foreign brokers, creating additional barriers and costs. For retail investors seeking to diversify their dollar-denominated holdings without accessing international exchanges directly, the new listing could be a convenient alternative.
