Kazakhstan's Finance Ministry to Re-Auction Long-Term MEUKAM Bonds
The Kazakhstan Stock Exchange announced that on August 18 it will hold a repeat specialized auction for long-term government treasury bonds (MEUKAM) issued by Kazakhstan's Ministry of Finance. The bonds carry a maturity of roughly 12.3 years, with settlement for the placement scheduled for August 20. Such long-dated bonds traditionally attract institutional investors, pension funds, and conservative retail investors seeking to lock in tenge-denominated yields over an extended period. The placement of long-term government debt also serves as a benchmark for the state's borrowing costs and a reference point for the corporate bond market. Participating in the repeat auction may be of particular interest to those who missed the initial placement.
