Eurasian Development Bank to Place 500 Million Bonds on KASE

The Kazakhstan Stock Exchange announced an upcoming placement of bonds by the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) totaling 500 million units. The specialized auction will take place on August 20 in the segment for securities of international financial institutions, reflecting the issuer's status as a supranational development body. Being discount bonds, investor returns come from the gap between the purchase price and face value at maturity, rather than regular coupon payments. Such placements typically attract conservative institutional investors thanks to the issuer's high credit quality and international financial institution status. For retail investors in Kazakhstan, these bonds offer one of the few ways to gain exposure to reliable quasi-sovereign tenge debt with transparent terms on the local exchange.
