KASE Gains Market Maker for Nike Shares
Starting August 26, Standard Investment Company was granted market maker status on KASE for Nike common shares traded in the KASE Global segment. Market makers are tasked with maintaining two-way quotes and improving trading liquidity, which is particularly important for foreign securities with a limited pool of local participants. For Kazakhstani retail investors, this means easier access to buying and selling Nike shares locally without needing a foreign brokerage account. The exchange's decision also reflects growing local investor interest in international consumer brands through the KASE Global program. Going forward, an expanding roster of market makers for foreign stocks could boost confidence and trading volumes in international equities on the Kazakh market.
