Five Kazakhstan Regions Place Bonds Worth 30.7 Billion Tenge
On June 19, 2026, the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange hosted the placement of six bond issues from local executive bodies. The akimats of Akmola, Aktobe, and three other regions, as well as the city of Shymkent, participated in the trading, collectively raising 30.7 billion tenge. The highest coupon rate — 14.55% per annum — was offered by the Akmola region on a 3.5 billion tenge issue. The bonds generally have multi-year maturities with semi-annual coupon payments. For retail investors seeking a reliable fixed-income instrument denominated in tenge, municipal bonds can serve as an attractive alternative to bank deposits, especially at rates exceeding 14%.
