Six Kazakh Regional Authorities Raise 32.3 Billion Tenge via KASE Bond Placements
On June 26, 2026, KASE conducted specialized auctions for 16 municipal bond issues from the local executive bodies of six Kazakh regions, collectively raising 32.3 billion tenge. Among the placements were bonds from the East Kazakhstan region totalling 0.2 billion tenge, carrying a 13.37% annual coupon and maturing on June 26, 2031. Such placements allow regional authorities to fund infrastructure and social projects, while giving private investors access to relatively reliable fixed-income instruments. Municipal bond coupon rates typically exceed those of central government securities, making them an attractive option for conservative investors seeking steady income.
